Kari Hawkins, DC

Executive Director

Kari A. Hawkins, DC, is the executive director at Advanced Integrative Medical Center in Redondo Beach, California. At the fully integrative practice, Dr. Hawkins, a chiropractor, leads a team that includes experts in regenerative medicine, physical medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, rehabilitation, pain management, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture.

Dr. Hawkins earned her Doctor of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College (now, Cleveland University Kansas City) in Overland Park, Kansas. Under her direction, the Advanced Integrative Medical Center team upholds the highest standards of education and training and uses the most advanced, evidence-based techniques to diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic health conditions.

At Advanced Integrative Medical Center, Dr. Hawkins has created a practice where patients receive a full spectrum of health care services, from conservative, noninvasive treatments to cutting-edge, advanced surgical options, as well as innovative regenerative medicine with mesenchymal stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Cary D. Nelson, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Cary D. Nelson is a board-certified family practitioner, aesthetic and medical concierge and nutraceutical advisor. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1993.
After a postgraduate spent working with Developmentally Disabled adults and as an EMT, he began his medical school journey at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, graduating in 2000, and then completing a requisite Fifth Pathway Program at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York in 2001.
Dr. Nelson began his internship in the heart of Brooklyn, New York at Wycoff Heights Medical Center in affiliation with Cornell University. He eventually transferred to the PIH Family Practice Residency Program, Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier in 2005 and finished as Co-Chief resident.
It was during his second year, however, that he found his passion for what was then a “new” field of medicine called Aesthetic Medicine.

He is currently on staff at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and on the Clinical Advisory Council for ThermiAesthetics. He has also taken on a role as scientific advisor for a nutraceutical supplement probiotic called the “Perfect Biotics” Arguably the most complete probiotic on the market,
it has helped Americans across the country with a multitude of health concerns, with internet-only U.S. sales topping 2.5M units in under two years.
Devoted to understanding the process of life through the ages, Dr. Nelson works part-time with multiple Southern California hospice agencies providing support and teaching for nursing staff, visiting with ill patients and their families, and sharing guidance in the dying process.
When he’s not working, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with his wife, his animals, working out and traveling.

Dianna Smith, NP

Certified Nurse Practitioner

Dianna Smith is a certified Nurse Practitioner and has been in the aesthetic business for 10 years. She started as an RN running a surgery center and clinic for a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. Before graduating with her masters, she completed a 3-month internship with a prominent cosmetic-only dermatologist in Beverly Hills while at the same time running and managing his OR where they specialized in full body sculpting through various liposuction techniques. Over the past 5 years she went on to run two dermatology clinics one in Beverly Hills and one in the South Bay.
