Acupuncture
As an ideal adjunct to chiropractic care, we use acupuncture when we see health problems that seem caused by disruption to energy pathways in your body called meridians. This centuries-old healing procedure focuses on the integrity of bodily systems, not specific conditions.
Traditional Chinese medicine has been used for at least 3,000 years to restore, promote, or maintain good health. Acupuncture is one of the most well known modalities used within Chinese medicine. Acupuncture points are stimulated with ultra fine, sterilized needles, to balance out the body’s own natural energy. Acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of health concerns including:
musculoskeletal/pain disorders, enhancing the immune system, body detoxification, emotional imbalances, digestive problems, gynecology and infertility issues, headaches/migraines, stress, insomnia, facial rejuvenation, weight loss and general health mainteance.

While I was completing my last year of undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno I started having frequent headaches and sometimes migraines, but nothing would relieve the pain. When I went home for a vacation my mom suggested that I go with her to see her acupuncturist about my headaches. At that time my mom was getting regular treatments for shoulder and elbow pains, and it seemed to help her a lot. That day, my view about the world of medicine changed. After that one treatment my headaches went away, and until this day I have never had a headache that intense every again. This experience sparked my interest in acupuncture and to learn about my family’s cultural background. In 2005 I moved to Southern California to further my education and decided to pursue my Master’s of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and to learn more about this fascinating art.
Throughout my education at Southern California University of Health Sciences, College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program I had the opportunity to treat and be apart of dozens to hundreds of peoples healing experience. While in school I was a member of H3, Helping Hands for Humanity organization and traveled to various cities in Mexico and California to provide free acupuncture clinics to communities. I graduated in April 2008 with my Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and was a recipient of the San Hong Hwang Technique Award and President’s Leadership Award.
I believe that long-term health and wellness can be achieved with the right attitude and approach. Our ultimate goal at Adjust for Life Chiropractic is to help our patients reach their potential through optimal health and well-being.
