Introducing Redondo Beach Chiropractor Dr. Kari Hawkins

Redondo Beach Chiropractor Dr. Kari Hawkins

My family has always been involved with helping people in different ways.  My late father did his best to provide me with an exciting early life and I have fond memories of playing sports and recreational activities with him until he succumbed to cancer.  He was always active within our community and strived to make it a better place.  I was definitely 'Daddy's little girl'. I know that he would be proud of the woman I have become and how many people I have been able to help.  My mother was an elementary school teacher and helped influence the future of children by educating them.  My grandfather was a pharmacist along with my uncle, who is still practicing-more on them later.

I was first introduced to chiropractic care when I was in elementary school.  My mother and grandmother regularly visited Dr. Assay, our local chiropractor.  When I began to experience lingering headaches after a sports injury, my mother suggested that I try chiropractic treatment.  I admit, was skeptical and a little scared to get adjusted for the first time.  Although reluctant, I gave in to my mother's persistence and visited Dr. Assay.  It was incredible-I will never forget that first chiropractic adjustment.  It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted from my shoulders and my headaches went away.  The idea that you could adjust someone's spine and restore his or her health without medication deeply intrigued me, even at a young age.  Right then I decided being a chiropractor was for me.

My ambition was supported further as a teenager working for my grandfather and uncle at their pharmacy.  There is no question; pharmacists help people by providing them with medication- medication that many people cannot live without.  However, working there, I gained an education about medication.  It is not always the answer. I saw how much medication some people took and how side effects often caused problems.  It is often sad to be in an environment with unhappy, unhealthy people relying on medications that did not always provide results.  How can you be truly healthy if you rely on drugs?  These experiences made me want to help people in a natural way: CHIROPRACTIC CARE.

We love skeptics here because I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I first visited a chiropractor.  So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions, and over-communicate our procedure.  Patients appreciate that.  We have helped people with back pain, neck pain, hip pain, allergies, asthma, constipation, ADHD(Attention-Deficit-Hyperactive-Disorder), carpal tunnel, sciatica, headaches, insomnia, dizziness, scoliosis, ear-infections, and much more.  We also love working with children and pregnant women.  The gentle chiropractic adjustment works great for making labor go smoother.  We treat many children and their treatment is gentle; so much so that they usually end up insisting, "Me first! Me first!"

Thank you for visiting our site.  I hope it can be a source of hope and healing.  If you have any questions please call me or click on the 'Contact Doctor' button at the base of this page.

Dr. Kari Asks some important questions of interest to Redondo Beach residents - Chiropractor Redondo Beach Dr. Kari Asks...

Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
Why are frequent visits advised when starting chiropractic care?
Consistent visits at the beginning of your chiropractic care help create the momentum necessary to correct and retrain unhealthy spinal patterns. Later, Redondo Beach patients find that continued care on a less frequent visit schedule can help preserve their progress and avoid a relapse.
